Hasancan Meşelik's "Anthea" collection impressed
A new star was born at IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Fair, which shapes the fashion of the future with young designers. Hasancan Meşelik's 22-piece "Anthea" collection, which won an award in the 12th Wedding Dress Design Competition, took the podium at the 16th IF Wedding Fashion İzmir Performance Fashion Show. The stylish and eye-catching collection inspired by the flowers of the Aegean received a standing ovation.
IF Wedding Fashion İzmir - Wedding Dress, Suit and Evening Dress Fair opened its doors for the 16th time. Organized by İZFAŞ in partnership with the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association, hosted by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, on 22-25 November 2022, there are 222 participants from Türkiye and 10 countries from evening dresses, wedding dresses, suits, accessories and children's clothing product groups. The fair is expected to host nearly 3,000 foreign visitors from different countries as well as thousands of domestic professional visitors. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, Europe's largest fair in its sector, where fashion trends are determined, sheds light on the dreams of young people on the way to bring new designers to the fashion world. In the Wedding Dress Design Competition, which gives designer candidates the opportunity to exhibit their first fashion shows in their professional lives, Hasancan Meşelik's "Performance Fashion Show", which won an award last year, was presented to fashion designers, exhibitors and visitors on the third day of the fair. The wedding dress and evening dress collection designed by Meşelik, based on the word "Anthea", which means the goddess of flowers, the lady of flowers and also the flowery landscape in Ancient Greece, left the audience in awe. During Meşelik's fashion show, the dancers, whose costumes were sewn by himself, accompanied the models with a special choreography.
Contributing to the country's economy every year, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir brought a new designer to the sector in addition to its designs that shape the world fashion. Meşelik, who organized the first fashion show of his professional life, appeared before the representatives of the fashion and design world with a stylish collection inspired by Aegean flowers, all of which featured hand-embroidered flowers. The 22-piece collection, of which 8 are colored and 14 are white, received full marks from fashion designers.
Special plaque from Özuslu
After the Performance Fashion Show, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu presented Hasancan Meşelik with a plaque of appreciation and wished him continued success. İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı was presented to the choreography sponsor of the fashion show, Duman Agency owner Serkan Duman, and fabric sponsor Princess Tekstil Company Owner Mehmet Bilgin was presented with a thank you plaque by the Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association President Hayati Ertuğrul.
I want to be on the podium with my own brand next year
The wedding dress and evening dress collection designed by Hasancan Meşelik based on the word "Anthea", which means the goddess of flowers, the lady of flowers and also the flowery landscape in Ancient Greece; It was implemented with the support of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İZFAŞ, Aegean Clothing Manufacturers Association and Princess Tekstil. Expressing that he was inspired by Aegean flowers, Meşelik said, “First of all, it is an incredible feeling to take part in this podium where I was a competitor last year with my own designs.I would like to thank everyone who provided this opportunity, paved the way for young designers and inspired them. Behind these designs is the effort of a great team and supporters as well as myself. I've been preparing for this day for months. I recently created my own brand and brought my workshop to life. I would like to take part in this fair and on this podium next year with my own brand and my own designs. My goal is to open up first to Türkiye and then to Europe and the world,” he said.
On the other hand, on the third day of IF Wedding Fashion İzmir hosted fashion shows where the brands exhibited their new collections. Swan, Alin Abiye, Alamo companies' solo fashion shows, Closing Fashion Show mixed fashion show, and a mixed fashion show in the Trunk Show area, where valuable models were present, were held.
