Awards were given to the winning teams in the World Robot Olympiad Turkey 2022, which was held at Fairİzmir in cooperation with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Science Heroes Association. The winning teams in the Turkey 2022 event of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) held at Fairİzmir in cooperation with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Science Heroes Association have been announced. At the opening of the event, it was announced that İzmir will host the WRO International Final in 2024. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu presented the first prize of the Future Inventors Little Stars, one of the classifications of the program, to the team participating in the event under the name of "Robistim Stars" from İstanbul Fuat Sezgin Science and Art Center. Fatma Bezek, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Science Heroes Association, presented the first prize in the Youth category of the Ruled Classification to the team that participated in the Private Ordu Bahçeşehir College Science High School under the name "Spark".

The WRO International Final to be held in İzmir in 2024 will bring together 600 teams from different parts of the world and nearly 3,500 participants in İzmir.

Winners

The Adana Kozan Science and Art Center team won first place in Future Inventors of Stars, Private Ordu Bahçeşehir College Science High School team won first place in Rule Class Youth, Private Tevfik Fikret Secondary School team came second in Future Inventors Little Stars, Dr. M. Hilmi Güler Science and Art Center team won first place in Sports Classification Tennis, Şehzadeler DIY Workshop team second and third place in Future Inventors Stars, InovaThink Information Technologies team first and second place in Future Inventors Youth, TAKEV ROBOTICS Future Inventors Youth Karşıyaka Private TAKEV Secondary School took the third place in the Regular Classification Stars, and the Private BİLNET Schools Balıkesir Secondary School team won the second place in the Regular Classification Little Stars.

World Robot Olympiad Turkey

The World Robot Olympiad (WRO), attended by 28 thousand teams from more than 75 countries in the world, has been organized by the Science Heroes Association in Turkey since 2014 under the name World Robot Olympiad Turkey. The World Robot Olympiad is a series of local and national tournaments held in different countries, with the participation of the classification winners of each participating country, resulting in an international final. The World Robot Olympiad, from primary school to university, develops the skills of all students around the world, such as idea generation and problem solving, by organizing “thoughtful and educational robot tournaments and activities”. Children aged 8-19 participate in the program and work in the field of robotics in line with the theme determined every year. 1,294 children and young people from 33 cities participated in the program, which has been carried out in 9 different classifications so far in Turkey. The Turkish Final of the program was held in İzmir between the years 2016-2018, in cooperation with Metropolitan Municipality and İZFAŞ, at Fairİzmir. Due to the pandemic conditions for the last two years, the event was conducted online.
