Hosted by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ, the 4th Logistech – Logistics, Storage and Technologies Fair will host a special event this year that sheds light on the logistics solutions of the future. The DEKATHON 2025 – Decarbonization in Transportation Ideathon, to be held on the second and third days of the fair, will bring together young people’s creative ideas with leading institutions in the sector.
Opening its doors at Fuar İzmir from October 8 to 10, 2025, Logistech will bring together all components of the industry, from transportation and warehousing to automation and supply chain solutions. Within the scope of the fair, İZFAŞ and DB Tarımsal Enerji will jointly organize the DEKATHON 2025 – Decarbonization in Transportation Ideathon.
Undergraduate and graduate students from all universities in Izmir will be eligible to participate in the competition. Teams of 3 to 5 members will work continuously for 48 hours at the fairground to develop low-emission transportation solutions. At the end of the event, teams will present their projects to the jury, and the top three teams will receive both monetary prizes and development support for their ideas.
This year’s key focus areas include green ports and carbon-free airports, smart route and load optimization, supply chains strengthened by local resources, circular logistics practices, and carbon certification.
Participants will develop projects aimed at increasing energy efficiency, reducing carbon footprints, and enhancing sustainable transportation—thus contributing to the logistics world of the future.
Winning teams will be awarded ₺70,000, ₺50,000, and ₺30,000, respectively, provided by DB Tarımsal Enerji. But the support will not end with the cash prizes—successful projects will continue to receive assistance for one year to help develop prototypes and bring ideas to life. In the following year’s Logistech Fair, teams will have the opportunity to share the progress and outcomes of their projects with the industry.
DEKATHON 2025 stands out as an important step that combines the energy and creativity of young people with the sustainability goals of the logistics sector, contributing to Türkiye’s decarbonization strategy.
